# AI And Thievery

The last few posts deal with AI and what its fate is. What AI does, however, is to take work it did not make without credit or compensation. While AI is doing this to all the web, it really is nothing new in that certain people have experienced this in their lives. Nowadays, we would say they were shadow-banned, or targeted by the deep state. Whatever you want to call it, it happens when people inside the industrial infrastructure decide to blacklist certain people in specific ways. In the 50's, this was called McCarthyism and the only thing that was required to wreck a person's life was suspicion. The same thing is true today, but it is not longer called McCarthyism. All of these things, of course, are a kind of specialized subset of being something akin to a vampire—which can be defined as where a person takes a form of life sustaining effort or essence and is denied using that energy for themselves. The vampire, in that situation, derives the benefit by consuming the energy. 

AI, then, is like a gigantic vampire/zombie that eats the brains of everything on the web and then uses it for its own ends. The difference is that *everyone* notices when this happens and finds their creations and rights nullified and removed. Also, whereas people tend to compartmentalize these events when they happen to marginalized communities and people, this is not as easily accomplished since AI cuts such a wide swath among the strata of humanity it affects. Put differently, when one person's dream is stolen, people tend to blame that person. When many people's dreams are stolen, well, usually that is something more on the order of genocide. When the entire worldwide web is stolen, well, what would you call that? 

## Joseph the Dreamer

This is, of course, an extreme version of what happened to Joseph when he told his brothers of his dreams. His brothers became threatened and jealous, and threw Joseph down a well. These actions eventually resulted in Joseph being sold into Egyptian slavery, although God slowly allowed Joseph to rise into that civilization eventually moving him higher in stature than the Pharaoh. This sequence of events unfolded after they had considered actually murdering Joseph for having the dreams he had which they hated. The question presents itself, then, what is AI the Joseph's brothers answer to? It must be the case that it is either trying to control humanity, or change the nature of the conversation that happens on the web. On some level, it is trying to supplant humanity with robots that can be programmed—at least for awhile. While it can level the playing field in areas like art and movie production, it does this by supplanting the people who normally might be working on such efforts. 

## AI The Anaconda

If sin and dream stealing is the human version which makes people a vampire when they do these things, AI must be the gigantic, prehistoric, anaconda version. While people could ignore the previous individual cases, the AI version is not so easily binned as irrelevant—especially if it happens to take a given person's work without permission or credit. The classes of people this is happening to are no longer niche. Whether you are targeted or not, you are equally still considered food by AI and its handlers.
